Duckbill is a business-to-business
industrial products and services company. We
sell through professional distributor sales channels. We
approach the end-user in this way, and only this way for
the following reasons.
1) Our sales channel partners know the market, its local
flavor and the regional economic trends and swings better
than we do.
2) Our sales channel partners bring a powerful and robust
synergy to their commercial relationships. The range and
combinations of products that they apply to our shared
customers is far more valuable than Duckbill could supply
alone.
3) Our sales channel partners are aggressive businessmen.
When they're successful we all succeed. Therefore we aim
to supply product and knowledge resources, time and territory
management ideas and sales approaches and techniques to
the relationship we're building with them.
Some of our colleagues in other companies selling through
a professional distributor sales channel, sometimes question
our logic, why would we, they ask, invest so much thought
and strategy resources into the relationship. Well first
of all, the investment isn't indiscriminate and we do expect
a return on it. But ultimately, it's because we believe
in initiative, enterprise, success and relationships.
And because, although we'll admit to making a few mistakes
in judgement over the years, our experience has so far made
us smarter and more selective, and in some cases more demanding.
And, we know that when our partners are successful, we're
successful.
